Our family motto is All Things in Moderation but for Truth, Adventure and Goodwill. These are the outcomes to which we routinely challenge ourselves and one another as we strive to discover and commit to a purpose. So that we continue to feel good about the beliefs we hold and the goals we pursue and remain inspired into action (click here for a great TED talk on this subject). That is why we spent a great deal of time pondering the WHY of opening a bakery, and while many things came into play—some based on emotion, some on economics, some on just throwing our hands in the air with exasperation at the many other possibilities—at the heart of the matter we simply believe that real food made mostly from scratch nourishes a healthier, happier and more resilient future for ourselves, one another, and the world. This is the foundation of our inspiration, the fuel behind our mission, and driver of what has become our food ethos.
Real Food made by Real People. Period, no excuses.
Food that is produced locally and responsibly contributes to thriving local economies and sustainable livelihoods so we pride ourselves on doing everything we can to support our local food producers.
Life is full of dull tasks. Preparing and eating food shouldn’t be one of them.
Veggies. Grains. Dairy. Meat. A little of everything goes a long, long way.
We know this may feel like a repeat of Sustainable, and that’s fine. It’s important enough to mention twice
There is no reason whatsoever anyone should ever become sick or injured while preparing, eating or handling food made with real ingredients. Harvesting, that’s another matter, which is why we support our local farmers so they can afford to take all the necessary precautions that Mother Nature does not get the best of them.
Good things in life, food especially, are so much better when shared.
